Atlus brings us another hidden gem from Japan.

Today, Atlus announced they will release Lost Dimension for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe. The sci-fi game is set in a world about to be destroyed by an alien being known as "The End" — a fitting name, really. As you might expect, it's up to a group of heroes to save the day, this time using their psychic powers. Unfortunately, not everyone is on the side of good, and traitors will be among your party. Atlus describe the story as follows:
"To subdue the threat The End poses to the entire planet, several countries create a special forces group called SEALED, which is comprised of eleven psychics with superhuman abilities. Each soldier has their own talents and skillsets to use in combat, which can be expanded after gaining enough experience in the field. Bonds of friendship will form amongst the members of SEALED, but be mindful of which allies to keep close, as The End mandates the player must begin eliminating teammates. Make sure to accuse the right teammate of being a traitor though — once the final battle with The End begins any remaining traitors will fight the main character alongside him."
In order to prevent a deadly ending, it's up to you to determine which characters will betray you. At the end of each area or "floor", you must choose which party members should be eliminated. Visual novel-style segments of dialogue will help you to learn more about them and build relationships, and psychic visions will give you a nudge in the right direction. To keep you on your toes, however, the game will randomly decide which characters are against you, so each player will have a different experience.
While Atlus did not release any real information in the way of combat, the game takes place in a combination of real-time and turn-based systems. Characters take their turns one after the other, but can freely move around in real-time and choose where to go and which target to attack. A variety of weapons and psychic abilities will be available to wield including teleportation, elemental attacks, and copying the powers of other characters. Lost Dimension will be available this summer, both physically and digitally, in North America for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 at a price of $39.95 US. In Europe, the game will be published by NIS and should be released around the same time.
