According to Danganronpa series writer Kodaka Kazutaka, Danganronpa 3 is in very early development. "Until everything's been written, there's nothing that's set," Kazutaka said at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
So to answer your question, it's still very early because the scenario isn’t written yet." Kazutaka noted that it's common for the game's story and characters to change several times while in development, so no details will be given out just yet.

The Danganronpa series is known for it's Ace Attorney style gameplay in very peculiar scenarios. The first game in the series, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, casts you in the role of a student who is trapped in his school with 14 of his classmates by a murderous remote control bear. The only way out is to murder another student and get away with it. The second game, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, has a similar premise, but takes place on a tropical island instead.

How Danganronpa 3's story pans out may be influenced heavily by the fans of the series. "It's pretty much split in the middle in Japan," Kazutaka said. "Half of them want to continue with a small group and what happens within there, and the other half wants more of the bigger story." However the game develops make sure to check back with RPGFan for any new details.
