Purchase Game Time With Gold in World of Warcraft's New Token System
Time is money after all.

Blizzard's ever popular MMO World of Warcraft is about to get easier to subscribe to with their new Token System. The Token is a new in-game item that allows players to simply and securely exchange gold for game time and vice versa. Players can purchase a Token for real money, and then sell it on the auction house for virtual gold. A Token becomes Soulbound when bought to them to avoid any abuse of the system. Once bought the token can be redeemed for 30 days of game time.

The system was put in place to solve two big problems that face many MMOs. First, it helps those with a ton of in game gold to easily cover the cost of their subscription while helping the in game economy. Also, the system hopefully incentives those that want to buy gold to do so from fellow players though a secure system. Gold sellers in World of Warcraft and other MMOs are problematic, and hopefully this new system can help alleviate the problem.

The Token will be made available in an upcoming patch, and for those that wish to know more can check out Blizzard's FAQ on it here.
