New Final Fantasy XV Details Trickle In, More on the Way
Did FFXV take a page from Dark Souls? 02.13.15 - 3:36 AM New information on Final Fantasy XV explains the importance of camping and resting in this installment. Much of the game is meant to evoke a "guys on the road" feel, from Noctis' Cadillac convertible-esq cruiser to the use of inns and campfires. Campfires allow players to allocate experience points earned in combat, eat some bachelor chow for stat buffs, and prepare equipment. Buildings will light up dynamically during the night, and some locations will have inns for players to use instead of camping. Staying at the local inn is probably a good idea where possible, because the night is dark and full of terrors, including the baddest monsters. RPGFans should expect more big Final Fantasy news coming soon, with the Active Time Report live stream on February 20th, and the PAX East panel on March 7th. The live stream will go over the Final Fantasy Episode Duscae demo that comes with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD including gameplay mechanics and game progression. It will play on Youtube and Japanese stream site Niconico. The PAX East panel is titled "Behind the Game Design of Final Fantasy XV." Final Fantasy XV is in development for the PS4 and XB1, and currently has no release date.
