Diablo 3 Get Ancient Items
Wait... there’s something better than a legendary item?
01.17.15 - 3:43 PM

Diablo 3 has seen tons of changes since it was first released. Gone is the auction house; seasons have been added, along with an expansion. With Patch 2.1.2 we can add another major change to the list: ancient items.

Ancient items are items are more powerful versions of existing Legendary items and can be found in Torment I difficulty or higher by slaying monsters, spending Blood Shards with Kadala, and crafting. Obviously drop rates for Ancient items increase with each Torment level. In turn, now that there are rarer items than the Legendary gear, these drop rates have also increased.

Patch 2.1.2 also brings other changes. There are 20 new Legendary items and there are also new types of Treasure Goblins that will appear during Adventure mode. The last major tweak was to the Nephalem and Greater Rifts which have seen major improvements to monster density, monster damage, and Rift Guardian abilities along with other changes to increase accessibility and enjoyment.

To see the full list of changes visit Battle.net for the Mac and PC patch notes or the console patch notes. I recommend reading the easier to understand console notes. Patch 2.1.2 is now live.
