At the recent Game Awards 2014 event, Nintendo revealed the first gameplay for The Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

The video covers a few important features of the game including an interactive map on the Wii U gamepad showing off the huge world, a new mark system that allows for easy map usage and some cool interactivity with the world such interactive apple trees. More impressive was that Epona now has her own smart AI that allows her to avoid trees and obstacles much like a real horse. This allows Link to fight on horseback without needing to worry about where Epona is heading. Speaking of horseback fighting, Link also has a cool new slow-motion vault off Epona which allows him to fire arrows mid air.

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U is currently on track for a 2015 release.
