Game of Thrones Needs Six Episodes To Tell its Story
And its writer and design director explain why. 11.23.14 - 4:30 PM In a recent interview with IGN, writer behind Telltale's upcoming Game of Thrones title, Andrew Grant, discussed why it would be a massive six episodes long. "As we got into it, we realized the arc was well-suited to a six-episode arc, with the first episode doing a lot of heavy lifting in introducing who these playable characters are," Grant said. "Let's give you a chance to know them, and grapple a little bit with the initial dilemma." Ryan Kauffman, design director, agreed. "Our characters are feeling the impact of what we've experienced and seen in the show. It felt like six episodes, given the scope and scale, was the right thing." Telltale Game series are usually only 4 or 5 episodes on length, so this is the longest project the team have taken on. In case you missed it, you can watch the latest trailer for the game here.
