Atlus Shows Off Improvements to the Latest Etrian Odyssey
Thanks, Persona Q!

It's always fascinating to see a developer mix and match features across different franchises. Take the kill cam in Skryim coming from Fallout 3, or the job system finding its way into Final Fantasy Tactics.

Atlus seems to have learned an awful lot from the development of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, and they're using that knowledge to fuel the creative process with Etrian Odyssey Untold II: The Knight of Fafnir. In a series of videos just released on YouTube, in addition to a long developer blog post, programmer Yoshihiro Komori discussed the various changes to the latest game.

The first video shows off how information is displayed on the bottom screen of the 3DS. You can see various enemy weaknesses along with attributes and other details.

The second video shows off the mapping interface and save system. The developers have made small improvements to the map, having worked on a similar structure in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. The developers are also adding a confirmation window
when selecting commands during a battle.

Komori was quick to point out that they are still developing the game, so gamers can expect further changes as things move forward. Etrian Odyssey Untold II: The Knight of Fafnir is out on November 27th in Japan for 3DS.
