New Megas Revealed and Fly to Mythical Places in Pokémon Omega & Alpha
Beedrill, Pidgeot, Latias, Latios and more!
10.12.14 - 5:34 PM

The latest issue of CoroCoro magazine in Japan has brought with it many new details on Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire for Nintendo 3DS. To start off, four new Mega Pokémon have been announced: Mega Beedrill, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Latios and Mega Latias.

Mega Beedrill remains Bug/Poison in typing and gains the Adaptability ability. Upon Mega Evolving, its Attack and Speed stats will gain a large boost. Mega Pidgeot keeps its Normal/Flying typing, has the ability No Guard, and gains a boost to its speed stat.

Next up, legendary Eon Duo Latias (Alpha Sapphire) and Latios (Omega Ruby) will also receive the Mega Evolution treatment. We don't have specifics on their stats at this stage, but CoroCoro revealed that players will be able to fly around Hoenn on their backs — possibly in some sort of mini-game-style event.

And speaking of flying, new locations called Mythical Places will be introduced. By flying to these islands above the clouds, players will be able to encounter and potentially catch legendary Pokémon from past games such as Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, Zekrom and others.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be available on Nintendo 3DS worldwide on November 21st (November 28th in Europe).
