Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord Heads Out West
Thank Atlus and NISA for this one. 07.25.14 - 10:35 AM Atlus USA announced first thing this morning that Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord is heading out West. The PlayStation 3 strategy RPG, told in a visual novel-like fashion, is the first Tears to Tiara title to make it out here, and so there's no need to be familiar with past titles, but the movement grid will remind you of Fire Emblem in particular. The title boasts about 80 hours of gameplay, 15 main characters all seeking to escape the Divine Empire, and you'll even ride elephants into battle, and make use of special skills like joint attacks, magic boosts and consecutive strikes. As for the story, Atlus describes it as so: Tears to Tiara II follows Hamilcar Barca, a young man eking his way through life indentured to the Divine Empire. But when the Empire burns an innocent girl at the stake, he unleashes a terrible secret-his unbridled rage and demonic might of the berserker. With his newfound strength, and the insistence of a goddess, Hamilcar shoulders the burden of freeing his people from the tyranny of a corrupt Empire. On his journey to free himself and his enslaved people, he will fight alongside powerful allies, beasts, and even the gods themselves. However, he must control the demon within first, lest he himself turns the world to ash. Tears to Tiara II will have Japanese audio in both story scenes and battle, and English text. Atlus will release the title on October 14th both in stores and digitally for $39.99 US, while NIS America will be taking care of the European release on November 11th, with a price to be announced. Below you'll find the game's opening, and be sure to check out our gallery as well.
