E3 2014: Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Trailer, Gallery Update
Wherein if you die in-game, you die for real. 06.20.14 - 11:59 PM We didn't see much of anything for Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment at Namco Bandai's E3 booth, so instead we have a media update from the show. The virtual-reality MMORPG, set in Aincrad, with 100 floors to explore and a new area called the Hollow Area, has locked players into its world, and so if they die in-game, they die in real life. And so with that lovely disposition, players take on protagonist Kirito as he makes his way through this hostile game. Among the people he meets are Philia, in the Hollow Area, and Strea on the 76th floor. Although she goes along with him sometimes, all we know is that her skill is like that of the Assault Team. And then, of course, there are your token MMO jerks: the player-killing guild, Laughing Coffin, which is led by PoH, was believed to have been wiped to obscurity, though PoH s apparently still hanging around in the Hollow Area. Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment for PS Vita is to release this summer out West on PSN with Japanese voices and English subtitles.
