E3 2014: Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed Media
Battle zombies with the power of... wait, I'm doing WHAT to them?
06.20.14 - 11:02 PM

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed is one of those games you don't think will get released in North America, and yet, we'll be seeing it here before summer is out, thanks to Marvelous and XSEED.

The premise of the game, and I promise you, I'm making none of this up, is this: Vampires, known as "Synthisters," prey upon the "unsuspecting figurine-chasers, maid café connoisseurs and cosplayers" of Akihabara, and, of course, turning said victims into vampires themselves. How does our protagonist battle legions of these Synthisters? Well, obviously, by stripping them down to their underwear, exposing them to the sunlight.

I mean, what did you think was going to happen?

The original Akiba's Trip was released in Japan in 2012 for the PSP. It was followed by Akiba's Trip 2, released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. It's the sequel that we're getting, also on both PS3 and Vita (around the same time Japan is getting a PS4 port of the title). Since reviewer and podcast host Derek spent the most time with the title, he'll be offering impressions in the near future.

Until then, check out our Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed gallery for screens, art, and a trailer. Then look for the game later this summer.
