Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines Class and Character Details
Artfully crafted Monk, Cannoner, and Goddess Nueko highlighted in recent announcements. 05.06.14 - 9:47 PM Recent details have emerged regarding the upcoming Playstation Vita RPG Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines. The game is based on lifting a curse that has been placed upon an ancient clan. Once cursed, those afflicted are only given two years to live. During those two years, plays must seek assistance from various gods to help further the future of their bloodlines. The game works off a system of front/back line fighting. So far, two of the eight possible classes have been highlighted. First up is the Monk class. While trained in the art of Kenpo, Monks will utilize combo systems to dole out damage. They will also be able to unleash devastating kicks that will knock enemies back. While unable to equip heavier armor, monks will excel at evading attacks. Following the Monk is the Cannoneer. Relying on far-range artillery, the Cannoneers will have the option to focus on a single-target damage or use a wide spread attacks to deal area of effect damage. The Cannoneer will only be able to equip lighter armor. Lastly, the goddess Nueko was highlighted. While originally playing a role by sacrificing herself in order to save the clan, Nueko will return later in the game with her own special class of summoner, known as Onmyoshi. This power is exhibited in her ability to summon Shikigami that take the form of various weapons. Originally this is shown as a whip based on a centipede, which she can use to attack entire rows of enemies. She will also be unable to equip anything other than light armor, but will have higher evasion as a trade off. An interesting note about Nueko is that she will have access to multiple Shikigami throughout the game. Each Shikigami will become a part of her body, such as her arm, and will only appear for a limited time during the battle. Some Shikigami will also appear under certain circumstances, depending upon what the player has chosen. Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines releases in Japan on July 17, 2014 for the Playstation Vita. However, Sony has already confirmed that the game will be making its way to Western shores. We'll keep you updated on when an official date is announced.
