Yosuke Matsuda, CEO and president of Square Enix, revealed some particularly interesting soundbites regarding not only major new and upcoming titles, but the potential direction of the company in developing and distributing other games and genres as well.

Matsuda indicated that at the next E3 event, Square Enix may be able to share more on two notable games: Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III. While he gave no guarantees, it certainly is a strong possibility. He also assured that there is "remarkable confidence [in the development]" of those titles.

Alongside this announcement, Matsuda not only went out of his way to praise the western success of 3DS title Bravely Default, but went on to admit that the folks of Square Enix have underestimated the draw of JRPGs outside of Japan. He stated that Square Enix's focus on "globalizing its target [audience]" might have alienated some of their fans, citing the most recent addition to the Hitman series, Hitman Absolution, as an example.

If the rebirth of Final Fantasy XIV is any indication, Square Enix has shown they are capable of learning from errors and reconnecting with their fans.
