But the PlayStation 4 release is nearly good to go!

Though the PlayStaion 4 version is already confirmed, the release of Diablo III on Xbox One is currently up in the air. According to lead producer Alex Mayberry, while the game is in development for both systems, they're still working through details with Microsoft and a release isn't guaranteed.

"I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like," he says. "The point is we are developing for Xbox and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run." He goes on to explain it makes sense to development for both platforms at once, even if they don't both pan out.

Similar difficulties were expressed when Diablo III was announced for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so Xbox One owners don't need to panic just yet.

For PS4 owners, they can look forward to the release of the Ultimate Evil edition which includes the upcoming Reaper of Souls expansion, which launches standalone tomorrow in North America on PC. No date has been announced for the PS4 release yet.
