Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Trailers, Update
Special 3DS, special packages, special first-print bonuses ...the usual.
02.23.14 - 1:54 PM

This week had a few minor reveals for Atlus' Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, namely Japanese bonuses and packages. English fans who aren't keen on importing, however, will be more interested in the game's two new trailers. Below is one for each of Persona 3 and Persona 4's set of characters, who cross paths when the Persona 3 team hears the bell of Yasogami High (Persona 4's high school setting) while inside Tartarus. They say that those who hear the bell could die. At Yasogami, a labyrinth has appeared underneath the school during a cultural festival.

Unlike Persona 3 and 4, where only the main characters could use multiple Personas, all characters will be able to do so in Persona Q as sub-Personas to their usual main ones. And, out of your 20 playable characters, you'll be making a party of 5 with front rows and back rows so you can organize your ranged and melee roles (like traditional Shin Megami Tensei titles).

By hitting enemy weaknesses, each character fill up a gauge that will trigger Boost mode, where skills will cost 0 SP for a short time. In this mode, attacks also have a chance of a 'follow-up attack' by another character. With more characters in boost mode, the chances of follow-up and all-out attacks increase,

As for buying the title, there will be a Persona Q-themed Nintendo 3DS releasing in Japan, and while it will of course include the game, no other details - or even pictures - are available quite yet. You can grab the game itself for 6980 yen ($68.10 US), with first-print copies including a soundtrack CD.

For a little bit more money - 10,590 yen ($103.32 US) - Ebten has a Famitsu DX Pack which comes with the game, a B5-sized tapestry, an A3-sized clear poster, five clear files, a mug apparently styled after the Velvet Room, and a 'graphig' (foldable papercraft that turns into a 3D model) of Rei.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for 3DS releases in Japan on June 6th. A western release has yet to be announced.
