In other news, X & Y's musical composer is leaving Game Freak.

Taking place throughout January is the first official Pokémon video game tournament to use Generation VI (X & Y) Pokémon. Each event progresses across two days, and there is both a video game and trading card event.
Interested? Here's where and when they are being held:
- Doswell, VA - January 11-12. Meadow Event Park Exhibition Hall (video games on Sunday, 1/12)
- St. Charles, MO - January 18-19. St. Charles Convention Center (video games on Saturday, 1/18)
- Long Beach, CA - January 18-19. Long Beach Convention Center (video games on Sunday, 1/19)
- Salem, OR - January 18-19. Oregon State Fair and Expo Center (video games on Sunday, 1/19)
- Orlando, FL - January 25-26. International Palms Resort (video games on Sunday, 1/26)
The events are open to everyone who registers, and prizes include trading card booster packs, trophies, and travel to the national tournament held in Washington D.C. in August. Check out the official website for more details.
In sadder news, the composer for Black & White and X & Y, Kageyama Shota, will be leaving Game Freak to pursue "different avenues" with his company Spica Music. However, he did mention he would be happy to collaborate with Game Freak again in the future.
