After mailing New Years postcards that teased new characters, Sohei Niikawa, Nippon Ichi's president, has commented on the company's plans for 2014. Most importantly, he has said two new titles are already in development, and there's the possibility of a third.

In an interview with 4Gamer, Niikawa reminded fans that "2013 was the 20th anniversary of our company's establishment, and also the 10-year anniversary of Disgaea." He goes on to say that "The challenge is now for us to come up with two or three new masterpiece titles." They're certainly aiming for the stars!

He continues, "In that sense, in the year 2013, I felt that it was huge that we were able to release The Guided Fate Paradox and The Witch and the Hundred Knight. We intend to take on various challenges in the year 2014. As for myself, personally, I'm presently overseeing two current titles."

He goes on to apologise that he can't share any more details at this time, but promises one title should be released in summer and the other in winter this year.
