SaGa Series Creator Teases Something New For 2014
But what could it be? 01.06.14 - 9:46 PM It's been quite some time since we've heard anything about Square Enix's SaGa RPG series, but 4Gamer recently conducted an interview with the series creator, Akitoshi Kawazu. Most importantly, he announced that Square would be releasing something new relating to the SaGa series in 2014 to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary. In the interview, he was asked what he thought of 2013. He explained, "I was most impressed by how smoothly Monster Hunter [4] sold. I felt that Monster Hunter showed me the true powers of the Nintendo 3DS. I was also impressed by the idea of having a game system within smart devices. I believe that it’s safe to say that devices with enjoyable content will always stand out." On 2014 he said, "December of 2014 will be 25 years since the birth of the SaGa series. With that in mind, we’re making various preparations. As far as a concrete announcement goes, we’ll work on a well-timed announcement, so I believe you can look forward to that. Thank you for your ongoing support for SaGa." Though no details about their plans were revealed, it may be safe, judging by his praise of handhelds, to guess it could be a new game for the 3DS.
