The point and click adventure has returned, but the graphic adventure is on its way to becoming a major new subgenre. With "narrative" games like Gone Home and Dear Esther receiving critical and popular acclaim, we'll undoubtedly see more of these in 2014 and beyond.

The Novelist explores the nature of choice and compromise in a family of three. If there's disappointment there, just imagine how difficult it is to make the whole world happy. We can still try, right?
