The rumors were true!

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that Telltale Games is adding yet another series to their development roster alongside The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead Season 2: Game of Thrones. Tonight on Spike's VGX Awards, the company confirmed that they are indeed creating an episodic Game of Thrones game series, and that it will be based on HBO's TV series, versus specifically being an adaption of George R. R. Martin's books.
As you can see, the teaser shown revealed no gameplay, as apparently development started very recently. As such, Telltale is being tight-lipped about... well, basically any details of the game. But hopefully we'll have more news to share soon!
Game of Thrones is expected sometime in 2014, and given Telltale's reputation, you could say we're more than a little pleased at this announcement.
