Character designer Akihiko Yoshida announced that he is leaving Square Enix, by way of a personal message included in an artbook that released with Bravely Default: For the Sequel, out this week in Japan. Yoshida joined Square in 1995 and in those 18 years, he also designed for Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and many others.

The note thanked many of his fellow staff but also mentioned that he would continue to work on Bravely Default as long as he was needed, and still have a relationship with Square.
