Square Enix finally re-released Final Fantasy VIII for PC today, but don't worry, you're not stuck with the official store as your only way to purchase the title. For $11.99, you can also grab FFVIII on Steam. This re-release is 'optimized for modern high-definition PCs,' and includes Steam cloud support, achievements, a Magic Booster, and the Chocobo World, new to overseas versions of the game.
Final Fantasy VIII was originally released on PSone in 1999 on four discs (the second of which I never got past). To date, it has sold 8.5 million copies worldwide.
