Path Of Exile Officially Launches
It took a while, huh? 10.24.13 - 2:31 AM New Zealand-based Grinding Gear Games has announced that their MMO, Path of Exile, finally had its official launch today. After a long development - not to mention nine months in beta - the title is now available on both Steam and the official website. With the launch comes the Scion class who can be developed into any type of character, but won't have the specialization of the six existing classes. She does, however, have strength, dexterity and intelligence, and can be unlocked after clearing the game on Normal. The launch also introduces a couple of challenge Leagues, each running four months long: Domination consists of shrines surrounded by monsters which gain some sort of bonus as a result. By tagging the shrines, players can inherit these bonuses for a short time as well. Nemesis (in Hardcore) introduces rare monsters, each with a mod from the Nemesis pool, making them more difficult to defeat. Players who were in the beta will see new content in the form of areas, enemies, a new boss fight as well as skills, and a new type of support gem called a trigger gem. Finally, guilds can now be created, and several PvP modes have been implemented in the form of duels, tournaments and Capture the Flag.
