Just under a year after the release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, which added some new content, including characters, remastered artwork, and the Black Pits arena, Beamdog, Atari, and Overhal Games have announced that Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition will be released on November 15, 2013 on PC and Mac.

Preorders have begun, and can be ordered from the official website for $24.95, a slight step up in price from its predecessor. No date has been set for the tablet versions of the title, but the PC version fared far better than the iPad version in our reviews of the original.

Baldur's Gate II follows the Bhaalspawn through his fight with iconic villain Jon Irenicus and through the war in Throne of Bhaal. The Enhanced Edition also adds four new allies, with their own quests, and The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay, another arena challenge map.

"We are thrilled that our partners at Beamdog have confirmed a date for the rerelease of what many people consider one of the greatest RPGs ever on PC," said Nathan Stewart, Brand Director for D&D at Wizards of the Coast. "As we continue to expand our world-class storytelling on digital platforms, it is great to bring this classic to new devices and share the rich fantasy of D&D with new fans."

Longtime fans shouldn't be scared off by system requirements, either - as long as you've got a dual-core processor and a whopping 256mb of RAM, you should be A-OK to meet back up with Minsc.
