Spike Chunsoft Bringing The Witcher 3 to Japan
Yes, Japanese players will get to fawn over Geralt's beard too.

Sometimes we don't think about it, as we're used to so many RPGs being developed in Japan and later coming here, but sometimes Western-developed RPGs make their way to Japan as well. Spike Chunsoft worked with CD Projekt RED to bring The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to Japanese Xbox 360s in the past. This week, both companies announced they are continuing their partnership, which will see Spike Chunsoft handling all promotion and distribution of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Japan. Like in other parts of the world, the game will see release on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan.

Satoru Honma, International Business Development Producer at Spike Chunsoft, said the following about this arrangement:

We're honored to have the opportunity to work with CD Projekt RED on the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Japan. RPGs have always been a prominent part of the Japanese video game landscape. Although more and more quality western RPGs are now localized into Japanese, most gamers in Japan are still unaware of them. I strongly believe that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will redefine the western RPG for Japanese gamers.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases in 2014. For now, read our preview and look at the pretties in our gallery. Look at them!
