Earlier this year, eastasiasoft and SideQuest Studios announced Rainbow Skies, their follow-up to last year's SRPG Rainbow Moon. The first game saw release on the PlayStation Network for PS3, and while Rainbow Skies will also see a digital-only release, the game will be available on both PS3 and the PS Vita, featuring cross-save support.

While Rainbow Skies is built on the same strategy RPG system that powered the first game, is features an all-new world, cast, and story. Actually, make that two parallel worlds in which to engage your enemies. You'll be able to upgrade your characters, including their skills & equipment, and tame and level up monsters to fight alongside your party. Across the main story, side quests, treasure hunts, and various mini games - such as the new fishing mini game - the developer estimates there's well over 100 hours worth of content in Rainbow Skies to occupy your time.

Also, did I mention the game's hand-drawn artwork is gorgeous? Our new Rainbow Skies gallery features a bunch of early screen shots showcasing the in-game art, plus many pieces of character artwork, so I encourage you to take a look.

Rainbow Skies is scheduled to release on PSN sometime in 2014. Meanwhile, the currently PS3-only Rainbow Moon is still on track for a PS Vita release later in 2013. We hope to have more info on that version soon!
