Rift Goes Free-to-Play In June
One of the best MMORPGs out there, available to all. 05.14.13 - 12:15 PM Trion World's first MMORPG, Rift, will be going free-to-play while the world's gaming press is at this year's E3 on June 12, 2013. Players will gain access to, "the entire game world; "We have been listening to feedback from our players and watching the As with recent AAA MMORPGs that have gone free-to-play, like Star Wars: The Old Republic, a subscription plan will still be available and players will gain bonuses for their time in Rift thus far. Additionally, the in-game store will see a massive expansion with mounts, boosts, wardrobe items, and other perks. While we don't have a review of Rift on RPGFan, it's one of my favorite MMORPGs and the one that's garnered most of my time in my post-WoW era. Featuring a significant amount of dynamic content in the form of the eponymous rifts, there's a massive amount of content to explore. Additionally, while Rift's class system appears simple on the surface - only four classes - it is one of the deepest and most customizable in MMORPGs today. Rift's free-to-play launch will coincide with content update 2.3, Empyreal Assault, containing a new zone and world event, amongst other content.
