Square Enix's Yoichi Wada To Resign
Yosuke Matsuda will fill his role as president. 03.26.13 - 6:34 PM In a surprise announcement made today, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada will resign his post as president, a position that will be taken over by Yosuke Matsuda, currently its representative director. The change is expected to be made official pending a shareholder meeting in late June. Matsuda joined Square Enix in 2001 as senior vice president before later becoming director and chief financial officer. The news comes amidst Square Enix changing its profit forecast, saying sales of titles such as Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs fell short of expectations - even though digital sales didn't factor into their figures. Their arcade business had also suffered from poor performance.
