To the surprise of absolutely no one, it would appear as if Final Fantasy V is the next title in Square Enix's flagship series to get the smartphone treatment. Based on the GameBoy Advance port, the iOS and Android version will get a 2D-visual update (including character portraits) and of course, touchscreen controls.
Final Fantasy V will be released for iOS devices on March 28th (likely worldwide, as usual) for 1800 yen ($18.74 US), with an Android version coming in the summer.
