First Look at Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes
Solve a series of cases in the follow-up to last year's Holmes adventure.

Last year, Frogwares brought us a new adventure game featuring the world's most famous detective: The Testament of Sherlock Holmes thrust Holmes and Watson into an original tale which sees our hero on a case to clear his once good name, after being tarnished in the press.

Where the first title was built on Frogwares Studio's own in-house engine, Crimes & Punishments is being developed on Epic's Unreal Engine 3. 'Testament' was no slouch graphically, but the shift in engine has allowed the follow-up to far surpass the original in graphical fidelity. It's a big shift for the developer, who has always relied on their own engine. However, based on first impressions, we're liking what we're seeing.

Crimes & Punishments has eight cases to solve, although they won't be solved simply by making by-the-book choices. Making it through each case will require not only cleverness and problem solving, but moral decisions as well. Like the best Western RPGs, these choices influence how the story unfolds, and will affect Holmes' reputation and more. So be sure you have the right suspect in your sights before you accuse them of committing that crime.

Crimes & Punishments will release later this year, and, like its predecessor, be available on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and PC. Until we have more to share, be sure to check out our all-new gallery for the title!
