New Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Details, Videos
A decidedly-different (and welcome) approach to expansions, come see what's new in Dark Arisen.

Way back in September 2012, Capcom announced that 2013 would see the release of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, an expansion to the original title. Now that said expansion is mere months from release, we have a bevy of new details and media to share!

Unlike a typical expansion, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen includes all content from Dragon's Dogma. So, while players of the original can export their save data for use in the expansion, it's not required to own the original version. This also means you can start a brand new game with DD:DA if you're a first-time player. However, if you are exporting save data, you're rewarded in Dark Arisen with 100,000 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones, and the Gransys Armour Pack (which consists of six new costumes).

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen adds a massive new area filled with treasure and new enemies: The cursed Bitterblack Isle. Each available character class will gain access to a new tier of skills, new augments, and new high level weapons and armor sets (over 100 in all). Dark Arisen adds more character customization options, an item appraisal system, and an option for Japanese voices. Gameplay also sees improvements based on player feedback, such as a more intuitive menu system and easier travel.

Alongside the debut of our Dark Arisen gallery, we also have a trailer for you:

Capcom also released a video showcasing some the expansion's new enemies: Death (appropriately armed with a one-hit-kill scythe), the fire-breathing Pyre Saurian, the colossal Eliminator, and more:

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will release as both a physical disc and download for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $39.99 USD. It arrives on April 23rd in North America and April 26th in Europe.
