Expect a lot of familiar SMT gameplay.

Atlus recently released the first batch of screenshots and artwork for its 3DS title Shin Megami Tensei IV, which actually does include a Tokyo overrun by demons after all. If you remembered that all the characters we detailed are from East Mikado (where they trained as samurai and obtain demon summoning devices), well, they're sent to Tokyo to help out.
The battle system will be familiar to SMT fans as it includes the press-turn system (where you'll gain extra turns by hitting an enemy's weakness), demon recruiting, fusing and summoning. Battles are no longer random; instead you'll find enemies on the field and strike them to get the first attack.
Shin Megami Tensei IV for Nintendo 3DS goes on sale in Japan sometime next year. You can check out the first screens and artwork below.
