Namco Bandai shared the first (of probably many) character clips for Tales of Hearts R, the Vita remake of a DS title. Aside from the obvious 3D graphics, the game got a reworked battle system, full voice acting and new events.

In addition, Calcedony Arkham is an NPC-turned-playable-chracter in the remake.

Another new playable character is Garad Grinas, but we don't have a video of him yet. Wielding an axe and machete, he accompanies Shing to help cure a disease. He, too, can use the new Chase Link system.

Tales of Hearts R for PlayStation Vita goes on sale next spring in Japan.
