A new name, and new review!

As teased once or twice in the past, today I'm thrilled to announce the new name of the section formerly known as RPGFan Soundtracks: RPGFan Music!
This is a change I've personally wanted to make for a long time, as I believe it is more reflective of the coverage that the section offers:
The mission of RPGFan Music can best be summed up with the phrase "music appreciation." Video game soundtracks have exploded in popularity since the good old days, and now you can't walk five feet without slipping over six albums. Official arrangement albums, independent musicians, original soundtracks, and more have become a major part of video gaming culture, and this is something that all of us here at RPGFan couldn't be happier about.
Every new genre seems to encounter some resistance upon its inception, and VGM is certainly no exception. But as gaming itself has proliferated, we've seen more and more people sit up and take notice of the music we've been singing the praises of all along. Sites like YouTube and OCRemix are filled with music-lovers and their own renditions of popular songs. Original soundtracks are no longer something relegated to niche corners of Japanese import shops. Live symphony orchestras all over the world are arranging and performing music that we've loved since we were kids, and if one takes an educated guess, it seems likely that this trend is only going to continue.
And that's something that all of us here at RPGFan Music want to help along. We want people to listen. We want them to talk. The best way to get more people into the genre we love so much is to tell them about it. Make them see the value in this music that we've always seen. We're all here because we love this stuff. So while we can't promise that our reviews and commentary will be full of accurate musical terminology, we can promise that everything we do, we do for the love of this music. Music is about passion, and that's what you'll find here.
