Hyperdimension Neptunia V Media Added
A look at a bunch of systems.
08.22.12 - 5:40 PM

It's been a while since we've had Hyperdimension Neptunia V screens instead of trailers, but the most recent batch introduce a number of systems to the PS3 series' third installment. One of these is the Kenbunsha system, where you send contractors off to dungeons to scope out and gather information, items, or even other contractors for you. You can choose whether or not to believe his info, but your items and EXP in that dungeon will change depending on your answer. Each contractor has a 'level' which, of course, increases the more time you send him out.

'Disc Make' is the game's way of having you make your equipment. You fuse ability chips onto blank discs, and how you do this determines whether the disc will end up a really good or very bad 'game.' Different types of discs hold different amounts of chips. You can get these through Nepstation which offers a variety of programs including sales and, apparently, reviewing your actions. High reviews might get you rare items. You can also trade in metals dropped by strong monsters to get the discs.

Fans will be familiar with the combo maker system which allows for unique combos by stringing together up to four attacks. Successful attacks will fill up an EX Drive gauge - once it's full, your combo is followed by an EX Finishing move.

Our new screens (19) and artwork (4) are in the usual place. Hyperdimension Neptunia V goes on sale in Japan soon on August 30th, but we have not yet heard about a Western release.
