Square Enix recently revealed a pricey collector's edition for its next Nintendo 3DS RPG, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Priced at a hefty 12,800 yen ($163.78 US) and sold only through Square's online store, the bundle comes with a life-sized AR poster, a protective case for your 3DS, plus a soundtrack and an artbook. Aside from the soundtrack, all other items are exclusive to this edition.

Too much? The standard edition will cost 6090 yen ($77.92 US).

The company also recently shared details on the game's battle system. You might have seen it mentioned briefly that Bravely Default employs a job system not unlike Final Fantasy V, but with 'cost,' which allows for customization within the jobs. In battle, you'll have job commands and support abilities. The former are the typical commands you'd see in battle, attacks, spells, etc. Support abilities are passive skills that are automatic and do not require input - things like an HP bonus or a knight covering a threatened ally in battle.

In both cases, you can use a job command and support abilities you've learned as another class. Support abilities all have a cost which limits how many, or what, you can set. This will be handy for making up for a weakness your current job may have, for example, giving an HP boost to a mage.

Bravely Default will also feature party chat, which is kind of like Tales skits where your characters can talk to each other about the plot, strategies, or something else. If a skit is available, the words 'party chat' will appear onscreen and you can trigger it with the Y button. Square says there are plenty of these chats in the game. Some will be very rare.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy for 3DS goes on sale in Japan on October 11th.
