Apparently, we're only capable of huge updates when it comes to Tales of Xillia 2. This is what happens when Namco Bandai releases all kinds of media and info at once. This week saw the introduction of new characters, for starters. Nova is a former classmate of Ludgar who works at a bank owned by Clanspia. There is where she first sees Ludgar again when he enters the bank to either take out a loan, or pay off his debts. Maybe both.

Ludgar's older brother, Julius, was mentioned in passing a couple of weeks ago. At age 28 he works for the Clanspia corporation. They live together, and Ludgar cooks for him - Julius will eat anything, but is especially fond of tomatoes. On Ludgar's first day of work some kind of incident occurs, and Julius goes missing afterward. Ludgar also incurs some debt from this incident, the one he's begun to pay off.

Elle, as mentioned before won't take part in battles. You'll see and hear her though as she shouts out some support and appears in battle cut-ins. Whether she has any affect on the battle remains to be seen. Finally, Alvin and Leia, whom we mentioned last week, are now confirmed to be playable in Tales of Xillia 2, with new skills.

Namco Bandai has also expanded on the 'Link Artes' from the first Tales of Xillia, of which there are now two kinds - Unique Link Artes, and Common Link Artes. Unique ones require specific pairs of allies, for example Ludgar and Alvin can combine their Rapid Range and Variable Trigger moves to create Mortal Fire. Common Link Artes are doable no matter the two characters used.

Next, Namco Bandai released a bunch of event videos featuring Ludgar and Elle. Here you can see an example of the game's scenario-switching element in action.

Finally, you'll find a few related screens and art in our gallery below. Tales of Xillia 2 for PS3 hits Japanese shelves on November 1st.
