Tales of Xillia 2 Date, Video, Cameos, and Promo Material
Including information on three separate, yes three, special editions. 06.30.12 - 10:46 PM We've got quite a lot of new information about Tales of Xillia 2, particularly about how Namco will be marketing and releasing it. Before we get into all that though, first we've got a video that shows Elle meeting main character Ludger's cat, Lulu. It's equal parts cute and, uh, slow: Next, the cameos! No surprises that characters from the first game will appear in the sequel, but we now at least know who two of them are. Both Alvin and Leia from the first Tales of Xillia will be making appearances this time around too, and in new outfits. The developers have confirmed there will be other cameos, but not exactly who they will be. Also just confirmed is the release date: Tales of Xillia 2 will be hitting shelves on November 1st of this year in Japan at the price of 8,380 yen ($105 USD). If you happen to pre-order it, you'll get a brief story book that connects the two games together, a PS3 theme, and even three character costumes, including one that dresses Ludger up like Emil from Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World (not exactly a big selling point, if you ask me). If you have a bit more money to throw around, then you may want to consider one of three special editions. The first has been compiled by Enterbrain at the price of 11,499 yen ($144 USD, ouch!) and will contain a B2-szie tapestry, six character clear files plus two original artwork clear files, a Lulu stuffed plush and, finally, a "Tales of Friends x Famitsu" mug. If that doesn't appeal, then maybe try the other special edition from Namco Bandai's LaLaBit Market sales site. This one is very slightly more expensive at 11,980 yen ($150 USD) and contains a larger box, a calendar, and a two "Kyun-Kyara" SD style figures. Still not satisfied? Then last, but not least, Namco Bandai will release the Tales of Xillia 2 X Edition for 12,980 yen ($162 USD) which comes with a Tales of Xillia 2 themed PS3 controller. Wow, that's a lot of stuff.
