Namco Bandai's Tales of Xillia 2 adds an interesting twist to its gameplay elements: Snap decisions. Worse yet, they're going to alter the course of the game's storyline, just like that. When you see L1 and R1 appear onscreen, you have mere seconds to press one button or the other.

The newly-released screens (see gallery below) show the scenario system, some shots of the characters as well as the 'weapon shift' system that lets you change weapons on the fly in battle. You can cycle forward or reverse through your weapon inventory using this system. Ludgar, the game's main character, uses twin blades in close-range combat. There's also the slower hammer, and twin pistols which limit his movement.

So far we have only been introduced to Ludgar, his cat Lulu, and Elle Mei Mata, but the young girl isn't playable in battle. You can find the gallery below. Tales of Xillia 2 for PS3 is due out in Japan this winter.
