Yes, that's right. For only the third time in Tales history, Namco Bandai is developing a direct sequel to an earlier game. Tales of Xillia 2 has just been announced and will follow one year after the events of the original game. This installment in the series follows two main characters: Ludgar and possibly a young girl named Elle.
Tales of Xillia 2 introduces a new choice system where Ludgar can pick between options during cutscenes using L1 or R1. Obviously, your decisions will affect the outcome of that scene and possibly have further reaching implications through the rest of the game. You can take a bit of a look at how that works, along with some other stuff in the first trailer below:
The battle system is known as the 'Cross Double-Raid Linear Motion Battle System.' Quite a mouthful, huh? Most interestingly, Ludgar has a 'weapon shift' ability where he can transform his weapon in the middle of battle. You can see how this works in the second clip below:
