Ys Origin Out On Steam Next Week
Here are some screens and an official website. 05.24.12 - 2:03 AM XSEED Games had announced awhile ago that they would be releasing some titles on Steam. Ys: Oath in Felghana was the first such title back in March, and Ys Origin is next. In fact, Origin will go on sale on the Steam platform next week. The game's newly-opened official website lists a May 31st date at the top. Ys Origin, previously never been released in North America, takes place some 700 years before the proper Ys series, making it a prequel. Released in Japan in 2006, the title covers the backstory of the twin goddesses, Feena and Reah, as well as their retainers, the six priests. However, when demons attacked the then-peaceful land of Ys, the goddesses manage to slip away during the ensuing war, eluding even their priests. Because Ys needs the goddesses to survive, the priests have to search for them, even if it means going to the Devil's Tower. You can read in more (better) detail at the official site, and view the screens below. Ys Origin doesn't have a price yet, but Oath in Felghana currently sells for $14.99 US on Steam, so we can probably expect something similar.
