Borderlands 2 Gets Two Limited Editions
Pricey and pricier, plus a pre-order incentive inside. 05.18.12 - 9:22 PM Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2, set to hit shelves this fall, will be doing so in three editions. Announced yesterday were two special editions, and the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition is, of course, the more expensive of the two. Priced at $149 US, this edition really does come with an actual loot chest - a replica of the red chests found ingame. You also get an artbook, cloth map of Pandora, stickers, a steel case, a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead, postcard set, a download code for a digital comic, and field notes from Sir Hammerlock, and some DLC. The lesser-priced special edition would be the Deluxe Hunter's Collector's Edition ($99) includes a map (not cloth, however), the comic code, artbook, stickers, bobblehead and the DLC. Pre-ordering Borderlands 2 (go to this page to find your country & participating retailers) gains you access to the Premiere Club, which includes a Golden Key (which leads to a special loot chest), Vault Hunter's relic, a Gearbox Gunpack, and a free download of the Mechromancer character class. This class will also be available as paid DLC for non-Premiere Club members. Pre-ordering at GameStop (US and hopefully, Canada) gains you access to the Creature Slaughter Dome, which is exactly as it sounds like. You can, however, gain EXP here to carry back over into the main game, and more bonuses if you last throughout the battle. Not to mention, you get a nice rocket launcher. Doesn't that sound like fun?! Borderlands 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) is slated for a September 18th release. Be sure to check our gallery below for all the latest screens, art, and packaging!
