Welcome, welcome to the latest RPGFan Soundtracks update. There's quite a bit of Square Enix love in today's update, so if you're a fan of small-time composers like Nobuo Uematsu or obscure soundtracks like the Nier albums, you're in luck!
For starters, Kyle E. Miller takes a crack at the double-disc Symphonic Odysseys. This album contains orchestral arrangements in tribute to the great Nobuo Uematsu, so if you're a fan of his work, be sure to take a look at Kyle's review and check out the samples!
Not to be left behind, Neal Chandran feels out some of Motoi Sakuraba's latest arrangement work in his review of the Tales of Series Battle Arrange Tracks 2 disc. Sakuraba's had a long and fairly prolific career writing Tales music, so he had plenty of material from which to cull the tracks of this album!
Bob Richardson also makes an appearance with his review of the SQ Lovers album, a bonus disc available to anyone who picked up one of the other (mostly great) SQ remix albums. The disc is only two tracks, but it's still pretty lengthy, so be sure to check out Bob's thoughts to see if this bonus is worth your time.
Finally, editor emeritus and resident Star Wars: The Old Republic addict Patrick Gann pops in to share his thoughts on the Piano Collections NieR Gestalt & Replicant album. Emi Evans' vocals are among the best parts of the original NieR soundtrack, so can the compositions survive without her? Be sure to check out Pat's review for the deets!
