MonkeyPaw Games Planning A Class of Heroes 2 KickStarter
So what's the kicker? They want half a million. 03.27.12 - 10:20 PM In 2009, Atlus USA brought over Class of Heroes, a PSP dungeon crawling RPG that spawned a few sequels, none of which ever made it out of Japan. MonkeyPaw Games and partner GaijinWorks hopes to change that, and prove that fans here still love their JRPGs. Tomorrow they will start off a Kickstarter with a goal of raising $500,000. President Vic Ireland (who also headed up Working Designs back in the day) says they will bring over digital versions of Class of Heroes 2 (PSP) and Class of Heroes 2G (PS3) regardless, but the campaign would ensure that physical editions, specifically 'old school' (meaning with lots of goodies)-styled deluxe editions, can also be produced. The various tiers for pledges include, of course, copies of said deluxe editions, letters, plush toys, signed posters, your name in the credits, music boxes, pocket watches, and even trips to LA for a day at E3 2012 and a visit with the staff of MonkeyPaw and GaijinWorks. There is even a tier that will send you to Japan to meet the developer, and another that lets you be a character drawn in the game. If all pans out, Ireland says they have an eye on other JRPG projects they'd like to try bringing over. They're looking at several titles across a number of platforms, but he couldn't name any quite yet. Since the campaign begins tomorrow, we don't have a link yet, so stay tuned!
