Wasteland 2 Gets A Kickstarter Campaign
InXile hopes for fan funding for the sequel to Fallout's inspiration. 03.13.12 - 7:15 PM It's been a good 24 years since the first Wasteland's release back in 1988, but it's never too late for a sequel... right? InXile's sequel to the 1988 post-apocalyptic PC RPG is in the works, but the developer is looking for a little fan support. So far, they're getting it. As of this writing, they're over 1/3 on the way to their Kickstarter goal of $900,00 US - and the campaign only started today. You can find more details like funding options ranging from $15 to $10,000 on the Kickstarter page above. InXile promises that Wasteland 2 will be faithful to the original: a top-down, tactical RPG while making decisions that will matter later on in the game (sounds familiar...) to add replay value. According to the page, Wasteland 2 is estimated for a release in October of next year, and founder Brian Fargo has made extra promises for if the campaign exceeds its goal - like a Mac OSX version if it reaches $1.5 million. Considering there's 34 days left, that doesn't seem entirely impossible.
