Phantasy Star Online 2 Heads To PlayStation Vita
But not til next year.

As a bit of a surprise, SEGA announced earlier today that Phantasy Star Online 2 won't be a PC-only title after all: The game will also head to the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2013 in Japan. Watch the three-minute announcement clip here:

If the Vita version doesn't look too impressive yet, well, it is only 10% finished. The development team still plans to release the PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2 this year, then focus more on the Vita version afterwards. Series producer Sakai Satoshi had wanted to release it on another platform (console or portable) all along, actually. This is because the first Phantasy Star Online was initially released on the Dreamcast, and the Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) games seem to be popular.

The Vita game will be an online-only title. He also confirmed that both PC and Vita players will play on the same server, and you can access your same characters on both platforms.
