CryEngine 3 Will Power A Warhorse Studios RPG
Crysis 2's engine will be put to good use. 02.09.12 - 3:18 PM Warhorse Studios announced today that it has licensed CryEngine 3, the same engine that was used for Crytek's Crysis 2, for an upcoming title. The Czech Republic-based studio was started up last year by Mafia's design director Dan Vavra and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising's developer Martin Klima, and employs other staff that have worked on those two titles as well. The new studio is working on a(n as-yet) unannounced open-world RPG for which they'll use the engine, but no other specifics on the project have been shared. CryEngine 3 also powered last year's XBLA re-release of the first Crysis, and will also be used in MechWarrior Online and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.
