Plus some random gameplay tidbits.

Japan gets a new Suikoden installment next month on the PSP, but the news of a download version should please both Vita owners and fans outside the country with a Japanese PSN account. Released at the same time as the retail version, the downloadable version of Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century will cost 5480 yen ($71.04 US). If you opt for UMD, that will run you 5980 yen ($77.52 US), but only that version gets a first-print run of Suikoden PSP themes.

Battles in Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century can have up to six party members: three each of masters and apprentices. The game has an interesting skill system, where characters develop by fighting alongside their ancestors. Classes include lancers, blacksmiths and archers, and you can craft your own weapons, items and stones too. There also exists a 'sub job' system, which lets you change up your equipment in ways such as equipping a mage with a bow.

Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century releases in Japan on February 9th.
