Ragnarok Odyssey Dated For Japan
The PlayStation Vita adaptation of the series is looking nice. 11.26.11 - 5:34 PM Ragnarok Online continues to see (mostly) offline adaptations on various handhelds. The latest is the PlayStation Vita's Ragnarok Odyssey, a GameArts (yes, that GameArts) developed title which will see Japanese release early next year. The game will support up to four player via ad-hoc, and you won't need a memory card if you buy the retail version, since your saves will be on the game's card. Ragnarok Odyssey's director is Kazuhiro Irie, its composer is Kumi Tanioka (Parasite Eve II, Onimusha 2) and Robot (CG studio) is working on the opening movie. The game boasts six classes (swordsman, hunter, hammersmith, assassin, mage, and cleric) and looks to be a more action-oriented installment and already being compared to the likes of Monster Hunter and Lord of Apocalypse. You can see what the title looks like in our gallery, though only 3 screens are new. Publisher GungHo Online Entertainment has set a Japanese release for Ragnarok Odyssey for February 2nd of next year. The retail version will cost 5980 yen ($77.24 US), and the download version 4800 yen ($61.75 US).
